What personal data we collect, why, who handles it, and how to ask for access or deletion.

NEXT STEP by MAP Consulting ("we", "us") is based in Ghana. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, our ebook shop, our cement supply business and WhatsApp, what we do with it, and your rights under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We are the data controller for the information described here.

Website analytics and advertising cookies

This website uses analytics and advertising cookies and similar technologies. They help us understand which pages and books people look at, whether our marketing works, and where the site can be improved. They record things such as the pages you view, the buttons and links you click, your approximate location, and the device and browser you use. We do not use them to read your messages or to collect payment details.

  • Google Analytics shows us which pages are visited and how people find the site. Their privacy policy.
  • Google Tag Manager loads our measurement and advertising tools in one place, so we can keep them up to date. Their privacy policy.
  • Meta Pixel lets us measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and show our ads to relevant people. Their privacy policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity shows us, through anonymised recordings and heatmaps, where visitors click and scroll so we can improve the pages. Their privacy policy.

These providers collect and process this data under their own privacy policies. When you send an enquiry or buy a book, we may also tell Meta that an enquiry or purchase happened (using an encoded form of your email address or phone number) so that we can measure our advertising.

Your choice

You can decline analytics and advertising cookies at any time. Declining stops these tools from loading on future visits from this browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Current setting: no choice made yet (tools are active until you decline).

Ebook purchases and email delivery

To sell and deliver an ebook we collect your name and email address, the book you bought, the amount, and your Paystack payment reference. Payment is made on Paystack's secure pages, so your card or mobile money details are handled by Paystack and never reach us.

We use your details to confirm your payment, show your download, and email you a private download link from books@nextstepbymapconsultancy.services. Each copy is licensed to you: your name, email address and order reference are printed on every page of the PDF. We record each download (the time and the country it came from) to limit downloads and protect the licence. If you ask for your books again, we send fresh links only to the email address you bought with. We email our own team a short notice of each sale.

Cement supply enquiries

When you send a cement enquiry we collect your name, business name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address (optional), type of business, town or region, the volume and timing you need, the grade you ask about, and anything you add. We also record which advert or page brought you to the form (campaign tags), the form headline you saw, your browser type, and a coded form of your IP address so that we can prevent abuse.

Our sales team receives the enquiry by email and in our admin system, and contacts you by phone or WhatsApp. We use your answers to rate the enquiry so that we reply to the most relevant ones first. We do not sell your details.

WhatsApp, invoices and payment records

We communicate with clients on WhatsApp, which is provided by Meta and has its own privacy policy. Messages sent to our business WhatsApp number are logged in our systems. Our staff use an assistant to record orders and payments from their own messages and screenshots; it works only for our approved staff, and an AI service reads what staff send it in order to fill in the order or payment details, which a person then confirms. We do not send automatic WhatsApp messages (for example payment reminders) to clients unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.

For cement orders we keep your name, phone number, delivery location, the order, the invoices and receipts we issued to you, and your payments (amount, date, method and reference). Invoices and receipts are stored behind private links that are not listed publicly. We keep invoices and payment records for as long as we need them for our accounts, to deal with disputes, and to meet our legal and tax obligations. After that we delete them or remove your personal details.

Who handles your data for us

We use trusted service providers to run the business: Cloudflare (website hosting, database and file storage), Paystack (payments), Resend (sending email), Meta (WhatsApp and advertising measurement), Google and Microsoft (analytics), and Anthropic (the AI that helps our staff read messages). They process data on our behalf or under their own policies. Some of them process data outside Ghana. We share only what each needs, and we may disclose information where the law requires.

Your rights under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012

The Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) gives you rights over your personal data. In summary, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you and to give you a copy, to correct anything that is wrong or out of date, to stop using your data for direct marketing, to stop or limit processing that could harm you, and to delete your data where we no longer need it. We protect personal data with sensible security measures, such as private links, access controls and encryption in transit. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission.

Data deletion and access requests

To see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, email info@nextstepbymapconsultancy.services with the subject "Data request". Tell us your name, the email address or phone number you used (so we can find your records), and whether you want a copy, a correction or deletion.

  • We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act, to protect your data.
  • We aim to reply within 30 days. Deletion covers enquiries, messages, ebook order details and marketing data we hold about you.
  • We may need to keep some records, such as invoices and payment records, for as long as the law and our accounting obligations require. We will tell you what we keep and why.
  • Advertising platforms such as Meta and Google hold their own data about you. You can manage or delete that data in your account settings with them.
