Cement: What a Hardware Shop Needs Before Ordering a Truckload of Cement

Before you order your first truckload of cement, check that you have dry storage for 1,000 bags, the money to pay for the full order, a clear idea of which grades your customers buy, a delivery route the truck can use, and a plan for stacking and selling the oldest stock first. A truckload of CIMAF cement from NEXT STEP by MAP is 1,000 bags of 50 kg.

1. Dry storage

Cement spoils when it gets damp. Keep bags off the ground on pallets, away from walls, under a waterproof roof. Plan the space for 1,000 bags before the truck arrives.

2. Capital for the full order

We supply by the truckload only. Make sure you can pay for the whole order, not just part of it. If you are not sure yet, start the conversation with our sales team: tell us your monthly volume and we discuss what a regular supply could look like.

3. The right grades for your customers

Block makers, plasterers and contractors buy different grades. Walk your shop for a week and note what people ask for. Then read our guide to cement grades.

4. A route the truck can use

A loaded truck needs a road and a place to offload. Tell us your location and any access limits when you request a quote. We deliver to more than 70 locations across Ghana.

5. First in, first out

Cement ages. Sell the oldest stock first. Mark each delivery with its date so you always know what came in first.
